Specifically, the Olympic road races will be held on July 24, 25, and 28. ![]() The 2021 edition of the Tour de France was originally scheduled to start in Copenhagen on July 2 and end on July 25 the Tour will now end on July 18, a week before the Olympics begin. The announcement outlines new dates for the 2021 Tour de France, so that it no longer interferes with the Tokyo Olympics. ![]() Both the men’s and women’s seasons will wrap up in China in mid-October with the Tour of Guangxi. The 2021 World Tour season will kick off in Australia with the men’s Santos Tour Down Under from January 19 to 24, then the women’s Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race on January 30 and the men’s edition on January 31. Next year’s season will see 35 men’s races and 25 women’s races with revised dates to better accommodate the rescheduled Tokyo Olympics, which is now set to begin July 23, 2021. Add in a strong Dutch team with former world champions Marianne Vos and Thalita de Jong, and it's guaranteed to be a race for the ages.The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) has announced the 2021 calendars for the men’s and women’s WorldTour pro cycling races. Defending champion Sanne Cant has been the most consistent, sharing hard-fought races with Katie Compton, Katlin Antonneau, Helen Wyman, Nikki Brammeier and more recently, mountain bikers Eva Lechner, Pauline Ferrand-Prevot and Katerina Nash. The women's race is just the opposite, with at least 10 riders with a strong chance of winning. In the men's race, Dutchman Mathieu van der Poel, the dominant rider of the season, is the overwhelming favourite, with only Belgian Wout van Aert in the picture as a rival. With heavy rains soaking the course in the week leading up to the races, the mud is thick, and with plenty of climbing and tricky sections, the course is going to be one for the strongest and most technically adept riders. The 2018 UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships take place for the first time in Valkenburg on the classic Cauberg cross course which is sure to put the riders and their gear through the paces. ![]()
